H.Y.P.E. stands for High School Youth Pursuing Excellence.  These are the teens of CYT, tomorrow's community leaders.  HYPE is a program through which high school youth involved in CYT can develop their leadership capacity.  The name says it all.  These teens are hyped about CYT and the positive impact that it can have on our community.  To that end, these kids encourage younger kids in CYT, are actively involved in CYT productions whether backstage or on stage, and take part in the leadership of CYT by attending production meetings and fundraisers.

Objectives
• To create an environment at CYT that encourages all students to pursue an excellent lifestyle

• To build bridges between different age groups and social groups of CYT

• To reach the community with acts of goodwill and service

• To grow student's leadership capacity


Activities
• Attend monthly meetings regularly; give input and positive participation (one excused absence per session is permitted)

• Volunteer and serve in outreach events for the community

• Welcome new students to CYT and mentor young students

• Assist CYT Classes, leadership and HYPE Advisor as needed

• Participate in at least two productions per program year either on-stage, behind the scenes, or assisting parent committees

• Participates in HYPE fundraisers

• Attend Production Team meetings in your area to provide input for future productions and classes


Qualifications
• High School Aged Youth ages 14

• Has successfully completed at least one full CYT Session

• Demonstrates a good rapport with all youth and adults in CYT

• Commits to serving one full program year in HYPE (FALL, WINTER, SPRING, SUMMER)

• Submits a thoughtfully completed HYPE Application, Commitment Contract initiated by both student and parents and two personal reference letters from adults other than parents.

• Demonstrates a desire to make CYT a fun experience for all students enrolled or attending
