 Peter Gardner - Teacher

Peter is a recent Master in Teaching graduate from Whitworth University, and is thrilled to be sharing his love of drama with CYT students. Having been in several CYT shows himself, Peter is excited to return after a decade-long hiatus. Peter has recently performed in several Spokane Civic Theater shows, as well as an Ethiopian production of Macbeth.

 Olivia Hess - Teacher

Olivia Hess has been involved with CYT Spokane for 13 years. She participated in over 20 CYT productions, with her favorite roles including Octavia in The Little Mermaid and a Stepsister in Cinderella. She has also participated in other theater programs such as the Spokane Children's Theater. Olivia feels CYT helped form her into a thriving young adult and gave her a love and passion for children’s theater.  Abby Leman - Teacher

At age 3, Abby started singing solos at church and missionary functions, where her parents served with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and she hasn’t stopped yet. She grew up in the Denver, CO area, singing in school musicals and choirs, and began her vocal training with the Colorado Children’s Chorale for four years.  Andrew Lewis - Teacher

 Andrew earned his B.A. in theatre from Whitworth University and has spent the last nine years teaching theatre at Northwest Christian Schools. This year completing his master’s in education administration with a principal internship at Northwood Middle School and Mt. Spokane High School. Andrew has thoroughly enjoyed being an active member of the Spokane theatre community.

 Cathy McKinney - Teacher

Cathy has been involved in CYT as a parent volunteer, teacher, Area Coordinator and director. Her love of theater and performing began in high school and continues to this day with her involvement with this fun organization. She received her Bachelor’s in Education from ASU and her MLS from UofA. She used her theatrical background in her years as a children’s librarian and loves to tell stories! She is excited to be teaching another semester at CYT.

David has taught classes previously and is excited to be teaching again at CYT. He performed with CYT for 8 years and was recently cast in White Christmas at The Civic Theater.

 Meisha Patten - Teacher

Meisha grew up in Spokane Valley, graduated from Central Valley in 2007 and attended University of Idaho as a dance major. She has been dancing since age three and has always loved performing. She has taught dance classes to all age ranges from two years old and up, varying in styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, and modern/contemporary.  Kathy Peake - Teacher

Kathy has been involved with drama in one way or another since high school. She has taught ballet for 19 years, started voice lessons at the age of six, and has been trying to sing and dance through life ever since. Most importantly, she loves children and enjoys watching them learn and grow. She is so excited to meet and work with your children this session!

Eric Stapleton has taught theater classes for CYT Spokane and North Idaho for over ten years. He’s directed five productions for CYT Spokane. He's back!  In 2007, Doug led the CYT Spokane Improv Team to a 1st place victory at the CYT National Improvathon.  He, himself, was a member of the Accidental Theater improv ensemble in 2005.  Doug Stephens has been involved with drama and puppetry since the Muppets were on Prime Time TV.
